The Construction will consist of installing 5,500’ of new 10” Cl. 250 PVC Pipe (during the Design Process the City will consider different classes of pipe and materials). The new transmission waterline will generally follow the routing of the existing 10” line that is currently in service (see construction area map). Final routing and placement will be determined during the design process. Also included in the project will be valves, flushing devices, road crossings, service meter reconnections, connections to existing waterlines, and seeding and restorations. An alternate pricing item is required for design and installation of a new concrete control vault with piping and solenoid valve that will be located at the intersection of Vernon Road and 170th Road. All construction methods shall meet KDHE, AWWA, OSHA, and the City’s general practices for water system project.
